Report on the XLIX FAAPI Conference 2025: “21st Century ELT: Bridging Encounters for Language Development”
Abstract
This report provides an overview of the XLIX FAAPI Conference held in Tucumán, Argentina, on September 25, 26 and 27, 2025. The annual conference of the Federación Argentina de Asociaciones de Profesores de Inglés (FAAPI) brought together educators, researchers, and students. The report describes the structure, highlights of plenary and semi-plenary sessions, thematic strands, participant engagement, and reflections on institutional impact and future directions. It includes participants’ expectations and takeaways—ranging from first-time attendees to experienced ones—to illustrate the event from diverse perspectives.

Maria Marta Mora
Maria Marta Mora is a teacher of English and lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated as a teacher from ISP Dr. Joaquin V.Gonzalez and is a specialist in Education and ICT from the Ministry of Education of Argentina. She is part of the Mentoring Teacher Research community led by Dr. Richard Smith. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship by the National Ministry of Education for a course in UCLA in 2016.
She has worked in private and public schools for over thirty years and has been a school referent for pregnant and parenting students and has been a class academic advisor for many years.
She has been a speaker in national and international conferences: APIBA annual conference, FAAPI conferences, IATEFL virtual conference, and has contributed in exploratory action research publications and in IATEFL Research SIG publications.
